MSc-DSAI Career Workshop and AWS Generative AI Seminar
The Generative AI Seminar, jointly organised by the Master of Science in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (MSc-DSAI) programme of The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong and Amazon Web Services (AWS), together with a Career Workshop specially designed for MSc-DSAI students, were successfully held on 2 March 2026. The events aimed to help students from computer science and related disciplines gain deeper insights into the latest developments in data science, AI, and cloud technologies. Students engaged in lively interactions and productive discussions during the sessions.

Career Workshop: Acquiring Practical Job-hunting Skills
During the workshop session, Dr Carlin CHU shared practical job‑hunting strategies with students. The workshop covered an overview of major job platforms in Hong Kong, employment trends in the data science and AI sectors, as well as how the programme supports students in obtaining AWS professional certifications and information on relevant fee subsidies. Participants not only gained a more comprehensive understanding of the local workplace culture but also developed clearer direction for their future career paths in the technology industry.
Generative AI Seminar: Exploring the Frontiers of Technology
Following the workshop, the Generative AI Seminar was delivered by Ms Yau YAU, Territory Business Development Manager (Higher Education) at AWS, and Mr Pat CHAN, Solution Architect at AWS. Titled ” Discover how Amazon Web Services’ cutting-edge generative AI technologies are transforming enterprise productivity and software development”, the seminar introduced a range of AWS’s innovative technologies, including the enterprise-level AI platform Amazon Quick Suite and the AI-powered development IDE Kiro. These tools demonstrate how generative AI can significantly enhance development workflows, automate complex tasks, and create new possibilities for AI-driven innovation. Whether engaged in research, application development, or exploring career opportunities in cloud computing and AI, students gained valuable and practical industry insights from the seminar.

We wish to express our appreciation once again to all speakers for their insightful sharing, as well as to all students for their active participation. Moving forward, the programme will continue to organise events aligned with industry trends and career development, supporting students in preparing for their future careers and empowering them to excel in the technology sector.
